Track Athlete of the Week
Hattie Landry (Acton, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine
Landry set a school record in the 100-meter hurdles at the Florida State University Relays at Mike Long Track in Tallahassee, Fla. - a three-day non-team scoring event that features competitors from NCAA Div. I, II and III schools. Landry crossed the finish line in a record-setting 15.60 seconds to place 30th among the 38 competitors. Her time bested the previous mark of 15.77 set by former USM standout Kim Brewer in May 2005. Landry's time fell just six-tenths of a second shy of an NCAA provisional qualifying mark, but was good enough to qualify her for the Div. III N.E. Championship, NEIcAAA Championships and the ECAC Championships.
