Track Athlete of the Week

Monica Mills (East Hartford, Conn.), Sophomore, Eastern Connecticut

Mollis led Eastern Connecticut State University to a third place finish at the Coast Guard Invitational this past weekend. The sophomore from East Hartford, Conn. won the triple jump event and qualified for the New England Division III Championships with a distance of 33-71/2. She also placed second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:13.36.

Field Athlete of the Week

Mary Ellen Horsman (Barrington, R.I.), Junior, Rhode Island College

Horsman placed fifth in the weight throw at the Northeastern Invitational this past weekend. The Barrington, R.I. product tossed a throw of 42.07 meters.

Field Rookie of the Week

Ashlee James (Franklin, Conn.), Freshman, Eastern Connecticut

In her first outdoor meet of her collegiate career, James collected 15 points at the Coast Guard Invitational. She placed second in the triple jump (32-61/2), fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (18.08), fifth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:16.08), and sixth in the long jump (13-11 1/2).
