LittleEast.tv To Broadcast Women's Tennis Championship

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - LittleEast.tv will makes its first broadcast of the season, when Bridgewater State College and Western Connecticut State University square off in the championship match of the 2009 Little East Women's Tennis Championship live from Danbury, Conn. at 1 p.m. on Oct. 29.  The conference champion will earn the automatic qualifier into the 2010 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.

The Colonials (12-2) and Bears (12-3) meet earlier the season in Danbury, Conn. with Western Connecticut registering an 8-1 victory.

Under the direction of Head Coach Stacy Slater, the Colonials captured the regular season title and the top seed in the Little East Women's Tennis Championship with an unblemished 7-0 record in the conference circuit. Western Connecticut received a bye in the first round before dispatching fourth-seeded University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, 5-2, on Oct. 25.

Head Coach Barry Gorman and his squad are making their second consecutive appearance in the Little East championship match. Bridgewater State defeated the sixth-seeded University of Southern Maine (5-3) in the first round before upsetting second-seeded Salem State College (5-1) on Oct. 25. The Bears hoisted the conference championship trophy in 2007, when the format was a flighted field.

Fans unable to make the trip to Danbury, Conn. can follow all the action live on LittleEast.tv. If the live broadcast is prohibited due to technical difficulties, the match will be archived immediately following the conclusion of the championship ceremonies.

LittleEast.tv, in partnership with EZSteam.com, was launched on February 4, 2009, when the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth defeated Tufts University in men's basketball.  LittleEast.tv has broadcasted four Little East Conference championships in its first year (men's and women's basketball, softball, and baseball). This past spring, Eastern Connecticut State University and the Little East Conference co-hosted the 2009 NCAA Division III Baseball New England Regional Championship from Willimantic, Conn. Each of the 14 games were produced and broadcasted on LittleEast.tv.
