Amy Lopes (Dartmouth, Mass.), Sophomore,
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth
Lopes led UMass Dartmouth to the Little East Conference Women's
Tennis Championship this past week with a 3-0 mark at top-flight
singles and doubles, respectively. The Dartmouth, Mass. product did
not drop a set against her oppositions from University of Southern
Maine, Western Connecticut State University, and Bridgewater State
College. Lopes turned in a dominant performance in the championship
match, defeating her counterpart from the second-seeded Bears, 6-0,
6-0. She completed the campaign with an overall record of 12-0 at
No. 1 singles and 12-1 at No. 1 doubles.
