Trutor Qualifies For 100-Yard Fly At NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Keene State's Kristine Trutor (Holden, Mass.) qualified for the finals in the 100 butterfly race at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships taking place at the University Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Thursday.

Trutor touched in just under the finals cut-time of 57.34, placing 15th in the 47-person field with a school-record time of 57.28. The top-16 swimmers advanced to the finals this evening for the opportunity to swim for a national individual championship and/or national honors.  Regardless of her finish, Trutor will become the first Owls' women's swimmer to score at the national meet.

Williams College first-year Logan Todhunter broke the NCAA Championship meet record in the preliminary heat, completing the 100-yard course in 53.76 seconds.

Trutor will also swim in the 100 and 200 backstroke races at the championship.
