Swimmer of the
Week:
Kristine Trutor (Holden, Mass.), Sophomore, Keene State
College
At the New England Division II and III Championships this past
weekend, Trutor won three individual titles and combined for an
additional three team relay victories as Keene State College
captured the New England Championship crown. The seven-time All-New
England swimmer from Holden, Mass. posted an NCAA provisional
qualifying time and set the Keene State in the 50-butterfly,
lowering the standard to 24.20. She also set the Owls record in the
100-backstroke with a time of 59.84, while setting the Tripp pool
record in the 200 and 400 freestyle relays by touching in at
1:39.03 and 3:37.38, respectively. Trutor earned seven All-New
England honors during the three-day championships.
Rookie Swimmer of
the Week:
Rachel Mondello (Stoneham, Mass.), Freshman, Keene State
College
Mondello recorded an NCAA provisional qualifying time and a Keene
State College record in the 50-freestlye event, touching in at
24.02 at the New England Division II and III Championships this
past weekend. The Stoneham, Mass. product earned a combined seven
All-New England honors. Mondello also swam a leg of the Owl
record-breaking 200 and 400 relay teams, while placing second in
the 100-freestyle (53.91) and third in the 50-butterfly
(27.19).
Diver of the
Week:
Chelsea Peruccio (Glastonbury, Conn.), Sophomore, Keene State
College
At the New England Division II and III Championships this past
weekend, Peruccio place fourth in the three-meter diving event
(329.30 points) and fifth in the one-meter diving event (350.50
points).
