Swimmer of the
Week
Renee Kruszyna (Cheshire, Mass.), Senior, UMass
Dartmouth
In two meets, Kruszyna won seven individual events as UMass
Dartmouth recorded victories over WPI and Elms College. On Jan. 19,
the Cheshire, Mass. product was the first student-athlete to touch
the wall in the 100-yard butterfly (1:04.81), and 500 freestyle
(5:39.80).
Rookie Swimmer of
the Week
Amy Arisco (Wallingford, Conn.), Freshman, Eastern
Connecticut
Competing in her first meet since Nov. 10 due to an illness, Arisco
swam the fastest time in the 200-IM, touching in a 2:25.98. She
also swam the first leg of the winning 400 medley relay.
Diver of the
Week
Chelsea Peruccio (Glastonbury, Conn.), Sophomore, Keene
State College
Peruccio became the first Keene State College diver to qualify for
the ECAC Open meet in both the one-meter and three-meter this past
weekend. She recorded scores of 222.20 and 230.30 on the one and
three-meter, respectively. The Owls are off to a fast start,
turning in an 8-0 mark in dual meets.
Rookie Diver of
the Week
Kelly Channell (Beverly, Mass.), Freshman, UMass
Dartmouth
This past weekend, Chanell won the one-meter diving
competition against Elms College with 160.90 points. The Beverly,
Mass. native defeated her lone competition by 10.10 points as UMass
Dartmouth won the dual meet.
