Swimmer of the
Week
Jackie Foster (Goffstown, N.H.), Sophomore, Keene State
College
Foster had a record-setting day at the 2007 Little East Conference
Championships this past weekend, winning three events. The
Goffstown, N.H. native set a Keene State College and UMass
Dartmouth pool record in the 1,650 freestyle with a time of
18:11.73, shattering the previous standard set by Kaitlin Pryor
(18:17.9) in 2006. Foster also set pool marks with her victories in
the 200 freestyle (2:00.46) and 500 freestyle (5:18.76). She was
also a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay team. The
Owls’ claimed theirs fifth overall and second straight
conference crown.
Rookie Swimmer of
the Week
Rachel Mondello (Stoneham, Mass.), Freshman, Keene State
College
Mondello was a double winner this past weekend at the 2007 Little
East Conference Championships, hosted by UMass Dartmouth. She
earned victories in the 50 free (25.22) and the 100 free (55.93),
while also placing first as a member of the 200 medley relay and
400 freestyle relay teams.
Diver of the
Week
Jenny Hines (Quincy, Mass.), Freshman, UMass
Dartmouth
Hines captured the 3-meter diving title at the 2007 Little East
Conference Championships this past weekend. She posted a score of
153.80 points to defeat her closest competitors by nearly four
points. Hines also finished fourth in the one-meter competition
with 175.20 points.
