Keene State College earns ECAC Tournament berth

NORTH DARTMOUTH,
Mass. - Keene State College earned
the fourth seed in the 2008 Eastern College Athletic Conference
(ECAC) Division III New England Women's Lacrosse Championship
Tournament. The Owls are making the program's fifth appearance in
the ECAC Tournament field.
Keene State College hosts Norwich University in the quarterfinal
round at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7 at the Owl Athletic Complex.
The winner advances to the semifinal round to face top-seeded and
host Bridgewater State College on Saturday, May 10.
Under the direction of Head Coach Michelle Mason,
Keene State College posted a 12-7 overall record, including a 4-2
mark in the Little East Conference circuit. The Owls earned the
third seed in the 2008 Little East Conference Championship
Tournament, where they advanced to the semifinals after defeating
Rhode Island College in the quarterfinals. Keene State College
scored 11 second half goals but could not overcome an early deficit
in the semifinals, falling 17-16 to second seeded University of
Southern Maine. Freshman attacker Jill Kirk (Port Jefferson
Station, N.Y.) paces five Owl student-athletes with at
least 55 points. The rookie paces the squad with 52 goals and 64
points.
Keene State College captured the 2004 ECAC Division III New England
Championship Tournament.
