BOSTON- University of Massachusetts Boston Vice Chancellor for Athletics and Recreational Programs Charlie Titus announced today that the University has named Courtney Mattingly (Bainbridge, N.Y.) as its Head Women's Basketball Coach. "I am extremely excited that Courtney Mattingly has accepted our offer to join the young and talented coaching staff of UMass Boston," said Titus.

GORHAM, Maine -- The University of Southern Maine Athletic Department today announced that former women's basketball head coach Gary Fifield will return to the sidelines next season, reassuming the reins of a program he guided for 21 years before retiring from coaching last fall. Fifield returns to the program he guided to a 541-86 record over 21 seasons after interim head coach Mike McDevitt resigned to return to his alma mater, St. Joseph's College

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. Eastern Connecticut State Universitys Ashley McFetridge (Canton, Conn.) has been selected to the ten-person Womens Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division III State Farm Coaches All-America Team. McFetridge becomes Easterns sixth selection to the team, but only the third different individual. She joins Robin Gaby in 1990 and the nations only four-time selection -- Allison Coleman between 2001 and 2004. A 6-foot-2 inch post player, McFetridge was one only ten players nationwide chosen to the team.
