KEENE, N.H. - St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minn., doesn't conjure up good memories for the Keene State College men's cross country team.
Back in 2002, the last time the Oles hosted the NCAA Division III championship, KSC All-American Mark Miller became ill the night before the race and the Owls sputtered to a disappointing 12th place finish. The silver lining on the day was the performance of Mary Proulx, who turned in a fourth place finish to garner All-American honors.

The Little East Conference recently announced its end-of-the-season awards for the 2007 cross country campaign. University of Southern Maine senior Curtis Wheeler (Derby, Vt.) was named the Little East Conference Male Runner of the Year, while Keene State College freshman Craig MacPherson (Derry, N.H.)was selected Rookie of the Year this afternoon after a vote by the conference head coaches. Scott Hutchinson was tabbed Coach of the Year.

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- Paced by a trio of seniors, the University of Southern Maine Huskies men's cross country team claimed its second consecutive Little East Conference Championship and won the 2007 New England Alliance Championship Saturday afternoon in North Dartmouth, Mass.
