2009 Little East Cross Country Report #2

Men's Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Jasud finished second out of 262 runners to lead Southern Maine to a third place finish at the 37th Annual UMass Dartmouth Invitational. The Rumford, Maine product covered the five-mile course in a time of 24 minutes and 40 seconds. The Huskies finished third with 107 points, behind Keene State (68 points) and Stonehill College (96 points).

Rookie of the Week
Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, Mass.), Freshman, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

Francisco was the first rookie Little East runner to cross the finish line at the five-mile UMass Dartmouth Invitational this past weekend. The Dartmouth, Mass. product placed 56th overall with a time of 26 minutes and 13 seconds.

Women's Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Paige Mills (Keene, N.H.), Sophomore, Keene State College

Mills was the Owls' top finisher, placing fourth (18:06) on the 5-kilometer course to lead Keene State to a third place finish at the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational on Saturday. Keene State placed a pair of runners inside the top-10 in the individual standings.

Rookie of the Week
Cora Gingras (East Hampton, Conn.), Freshman, Eastern Connecticut State University

Gingras was the Little East highest-finishing rookie at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational this past weekend in North Dartmouth, Mass. The East Hampton, Conn. native covered the 5-kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes and 46 seconds to place 125th overall. She was just four seconds off the pace from being the fastest Warriors' runner.
