Men's Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Tyler Jasud (Rumford, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Jasud established a course record as the University of Southern Maine Huskies dominated the field at the 2009 University of New England Invitational and scored a perfect 15 for a first place finish Saturday afternoon in Biddeford, Maine. He completed the 8000-meter course in a time of 25:58 finishing first and establishing the new course record as the first nine runners across the finish line were from Southern Maine.

Rookie of the Week
Jeremy Francisco (Dartmouth, Mass.), Freshman, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth

Francisco placed 10th at the Roger Williams Invitational this past weekend, covering the 5-kilometer course in a time of 16 minutes, 47 seconds.

Women's Cross Country

Runner of the Week
Carly Dion (Biddeford, Maine), Junior, University of Southern Maine

Dion won her first collegiate cross country race taking the top spot at the University of New England Cross Country Invitational. Dion took first place covering the 5,000-meter Rotary Park course in a time of 20 minutes and nine seconds to lead Southern Maine to a first place finish in the team standings. The Huskies took the top three spots, and five of the top 10, en route to a team score of 21 points. Dion's time was a minute and 17 seconds faster than last year third-place performance.

Rookie of the Week
Jennie Foley (Bangor, Maine), Freshman, University of Southern Maine

Foley was the top rookie finisher at the University of New England Cross Country Invitational. In her first career race, the first-year runner placed third overall with a time of 20 minutes and 30 seconds. She helped Southern Maine take the top spot in the team standings as the Huskies took the top three places.
