Co-Male Runners of the Week                                              

Curtis Wheeler and Nick Wheeler (Derby, Vt.), Senior, University of Southern Maine

Curtis Wheeler and Nick Wheeler each completed the 8-kilometer course at the Little East Conference/Alliance Championships this past weekend in a time of 25 minutes and six seconds to share the individual title. The twin brothers defeated a field of 71 participants, edging their closest competitor by 25 seconds. Southern Maine won the team championship as four runners finished in the top 10.

Female Runner of the Week

Jennifer Adams (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), Senior, Keene State College

Adams was the lone runner in the 57-person field to complete the 5-kilometer course in under 18 minutes to capture the Little East Conference individual championship this past weekend in North Dartmouth, Mass. The Saratoga Springs, N.Y. product averaged 5 minutes, 46 seconds per mile to complete the race in 17 minutes, 52 seconds, defeating her closest competitor by a minute and 43 seconds. She also won the Alliance Championship, which includes schools from the Little East Conference and MASCAC, by 43 seconds. Keene State College won the team titles in both the Little East Conference and Alliance meet.
