      <description>MARIETTA, Ohio  --  University of Southern Maine men's outdoor track and field senior James Spaulding (Lewiston, Maine) completed the second day of the decathlon in seventh place to earn All-America honors at the 2009 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships being held at Marietta (Ohio) College. Spaulding becomes the first two-time All-American in the history of the USM &#xD;
men's track and field program.  He earned All-America honors in the decathlon last year.</description>

      <title>Southern Maine Wins First New England Alliance Outdoor Track &amp; Field Championship</title>

      <description>The University of Southern Maine men's outdoor track and field team completed an improbable comeback Saturday winning the final event, the 4 x 400-meter relay, to capture its first New England Alliance Outdoor Track and Field Championship.  The meet was held at Westfield State College. Trailing Westfield State going into the 4 x 400 relay, the Southern Maine combination of freshmen Justin Vigeant and Jake Moore, sophomore Corey Gobbi and senior Doug Mercer  edged Westfield State for first place in a school record time of 3 minutes, 20.01 seconds.</description>

Bianca, the oldest at 33, attended Harvard and earned her doctorate at MIT. She is currently a professor at Holy Cross and lives in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Domenic Jr., two years younger, went to school at Western New England College in Springfield, attained his masters at URI and works as an engineer for Raytheon in Newport.</description>
