      <title>Southern Maine Names New Volleyball and Men's and Women's Tennis Coaches</title>

      <description>After a two-year hiatus from varsity competition the University of Southern Maine Huskies women's volleyball team will return to action this fall under the direction of first-year head coach Anne Tricomi.  Tricomi has previously served as an assistant coach for a pair of Division III programs, Bowdoin and Colby College, and Division II Bentley College.  Ron Chicoine, the varsity head coach for the Lewiston High School Boys' Tennis team, has been named the head coach for the men's and women's tennis teams.</description>

      <description>NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Little East Conference office announced the 2009 men's tennis all-conference and major award winners this afternoon after a vote by the head coaches. The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth earned three of the four major awards, while Rhode Island College captured the inaugural team sportsmanship award. Sophomore Mason Viau (Marion, Mass.) and freshman Troy Pandolfi (Danbury, Conn.) were named player and rookie of the year, respectively, while Tom Mendell was selected as the coach of the year by his peers.</description>

      <title>UMass Dartmouth Advances In NCAA Tournament</title>

      <description>WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.-The first appearance for the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's men's tennis team in the NCAA Division III Tournament was an artistic success. The Corsairs defeated Neumann, 5-2, in their first round match at the Torrence M. Hunt Tournament Courts at Williams Friday. The Corsairs took the lead by winning two of the three doubles matches, taking a 2-1 lead when sophomore Mason Viau (Marion, Mass.) and senior Christoph Forster (Reading, Mass.) erased a 6-5 deficit to defeat Chris Brown and Dan Harnos at number two doubles, 8-6.</description>

      <title>UMass Dartmouth Tennis Teams Set for NCAA Tournament</title>

      <description>Both of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's tennis teams will head north for their NCAA Tournament debuts. The men's tennis team will head for seventh-ranked Williams, where they will face Neumann Friday at 2:00 p.m. as one member of a five-team field. The Knights are 17-3 and were champions of the Colonial States Athletic Conference. The winner of their match will face the host Ephs Saturday, while the championship match is scheduled for Sunday.</description>

The Vikings registered eight total points on the final day of the two-day competition to storm back and capture the automatic berth into the 2008 NCAA Division III Tournament field with 15 total points, outscoring the University of Southern Maine by just two points.</description>
