Kyle Fossey honored by ECAC
CAPE COD, Mass.- Senior goalkeeper Kyle
Fossey (Townsend, Mass./Middlesex HS) of the University of
Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team has been honored by the
Eastern College Athletic Conference.
Fossey has been named ECAC Division III New England Men's Soccer
Defensive Player of the Week.
Fossey helped keep the Corsairs unbeaten, earning a pair of
shutouts as UMass Dartmouth defeated Mount Ida, 2-0, and Western
Connecticut State, 1-0. He made four saves against the Mustangs and
six saves as the Corsairs opened their Little East Conference
schedule with a 1-0 victory at Western Connecticut State. Fossey
has played 409 minutes and 51 seconds this season, making 20 saves,
earning three shutouts and has yet to yield a goal.
"Kyle's honor is well-deserved," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach
Ray Cabral. "He worked out all winter and spring,
and he wants to have the best senior year he can have, both for
himself and for the team. He is getting the job done for us."
UMass Dartmouth is 5-0-0 and will return to action Wednesday
afternoon when they host Salem State.
