Kyle Fossey honored by ECAC

CAPE COD, Mass.- Senior goalkeeper Kyle Fossey (Townsend, Mass./Middlesex HS) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth men's soccer team has been honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference.

Fossey has been named ECAC Division III New England Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.

Fossey helped keep the Corsairs unbeaten, earning a pair of shutouts as UMass Dartmouth defeated Mount Ida, 2-0, and Western Connecticut State, 1-0. He made four saves against the Mustangs and six saves as the Corsairs opened their Little East Conference schedule with a 1-0 victory at Western Connecticut State. Fossey has played 409 minutes and 51 seconds this season, making 20 saves, earning three shutouts and has yet to yield a goal.

"Kyle's honor is well-deserved," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Ray Cabral. "He worked out all winter and spring, and he wants to have the best senior year he can have, both for himself and for the team. He is getting the job done for us."

UMass Dartmouth is 5-0-0 and will return to action Wednesday afternoon when they host Salem State.
