Ten Little East Conference Hoopsters Recognized by N.H. Coaches Association

KEENE, N.H. -Tyler Kathan (Ludlow, Vt) from Keene State College was named the NH NCAA Division III Basketball Coaches Association as the player of the year in Men's Basketball. Jeff Carpenter (Meredith, N.H.) from Rivier College was named to the first team as well as Duncan Szeliga (Newmarket, N.H.) from Colby-Sawyer College. Rounding out the first team were Ryan Jaziri (Norwich, Conn.) from New England College and Ben Huntington (Hampstead, N.H.) from Plymouth State.

Keene State's Travon Little (Danbury, Conn.) was named to the second team along with Rivier's Lance Bisson (Nashua, N.H). Nick Drouin (Weare, N.H.) was the third selection from Keene State to make the All-State Teams. Chris Hanson (Salem, Mass.) was selected from Daniel Webster along with David Rosso from Colby-Sawyer to round out the second team. Hanson was also selected as Rookie of the Year.

David Morissette from Rivier College and Bill Foti from Colby-Sawyer were selected as the Co-Coaches of the Year. Morissette led Rivier to a 13-13, 10-8 GNAC season while Foti led the Colby-Sawyer to a 13-11, 8-5 CCC mark.

Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass.) from Colby-Sawyer College was named the NH NCAA Division III Basketball Coaches Association Women's Player of the Year. Teammate Noelle Surette (Buxton, Maine) joined Duffy on the first team along with Keene State's Nicole Simmler (Oxford, Mass.) and Michelle Boudreau (Readsboro, Vt). Rivier College Sophomore Jess Mellen (Rockland, Mass.) rounded out the first team.

Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) from Daniel Webster, Kayla Morin (Pascoag, R.I.) and Lauren Daniels (Concord, N.H.) from Plymouth State were selected to the second team. Rounding out the second team are Kristen Degou (Newburyport, Mass.) from Keene State, Ashley Hutton (Lebanon, N.H.) from New England College and Blair Carpenter (Meredith, N.H.) from Rivier College.

The Rookie of the Year was Plymouth State's Amanda Kania and The Coach of the Year is George Martin from Colby-Sawyer. Martin lead the Chargers to the NCAA Tournament and a Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship.
