Player of the WeeK

Eddie Skeffington (Everett, Mass.), Senior, Outfielder, University of Southern Maine

Skeffington led the University of Southern Maine to the championship round of the 2008 NCAA ECAC Regional this past week, batting .467 (14-for-30) with a 1.000 slugging percentage. The native of Everett, Mass. matched the Huskies' single-game record with three home runs against Western New England on May 17. Skeffington belted five home runs, drove in 10 runs, collected 30 total bases, and scored six runs during six games of the tournament.        


Co-Pitchers of the Week

James Kukucka (Vernon, Conn.), Junior, Eastern Connecticut State University

Kukucka tossed a gem in his only appearance of the 2008 NCAA Auburn, N.Y. Regional this past week, shutting down Montclair State University. The Vernon, Conn. product did not allow a run, while striking out eight in eight innings of work. Kukucka allowed only one extra base hit, while scattering four singles to earn his sixth victory of the season.

Adam Ross (Spruce Head, Maine), Senior, University of Southern Maine

In his lone appearance of the 2008 NCAA ECAC Regional, Ross hurled a complete-game, shutout victory against Western New England College on May 17. The senior from Spruce Head, Maine scattered eight hits, while striking out four in nine innings of work. Ross limited the Golden Bears to a .258 team batting average.
