Doyon named ECAC N.E. Rookie of the Year

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass.  – Keene State College freshman outfielder Bobby Doyon recently was honored as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Baseball Rookie of the Year. He was among nine Little East Conference student-athletes to earn recognition on the all-star teams.

Doyon, a freshman outfielder from Keene, had an outstanding first season for the Owls. He batted a team high .408 with six home runs and 55 RBIs.

“It’s a nice honor,’ said Doyon, who also named to the ECAC second team. “I had a good idea what to expect during my first season, but I exceeded my expectations.”

Doyon said he is hitting the weight room this summer and looking forward to next season. “I’d like to come back a little bit stronger, so I don’t get worn down,” he said.
